We have educated our children at home for the past 8 years.  It has possibly been the most challenging and most rewarding aspect of our life and family. Learning together and allowing “school” to spill over into each and every aspect of the whole of life is such a gift.  No subject stands alone and no subject abides outside of God’s design and purpose for all created things.  We marvel at the intricacies of the human hand, the beauty of the snow-capped mountain we see from the window upstairs and the plethora of insects and bugs we discover together.  We don’t follow a single, strict model or curriculum.  We read books.  The core of our learning together is in books.  Alive and rich in their ability to open our mind and imagination and inspire us.
